| NYAA 2008
The National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) was officially
launched on 9 May 1992 by the President of the Republic of
Singapore at the Istana. The aim of the NYAA program is to
encourage young people between the ages of 14 and 25 years
to develop personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance
and a sense of responsibility to themselves, to society and
to the nation.

NYAA’s program involves developing and maximizing the
potential of young people through selfless community service,
challenges of adventure, skills development and physical recreation
so that they may be exceptional individuals who can contribute
effectively to society and the nation.
At the 8th National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) held at
College East Auditorium on 3 October 2008 at 3.00 pm, 13 students
from College East Singapore received their NYAA GOLD from
his Excellency, President S R Nathan. Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister
for National Development and Chairman, NYAA Advisory Board,
was the host of this event. The ceremony was also witnessed
by Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, VIPS, Principals,
teachers, parents and guests.
