Project Simply-Cool
After 1 month of intensive training in the field of air-conditioning units and servicing at ITE EAST BEDOK, eight students from MCDS ( Ministry of Community Development and Sports ) went to the Moral Home at No 1 Jalan Bilal to service 36 units of air-con units. They were assisted by ten students from ITE EAST BEDOK CCA group ITE-ASHRAE, 2 volunteers as well as a lecturer from ITE BEDOK to do the job.
Their teamwork and high spirit were well notable especially when the job was conducted and completed perfectly on 23 rd of August 2003. The students practiced what they were taught during the training session and they did it well. They washed and cleaned the condenser coils, air filter, vacuumed the drain pipe , cleaned the casing, checked the operating pressure of the system and etc. Matron Tan from the Moral Home was very satisfied with the job did by the students and she had actually written a letter of appreciation to ITE to compliment the project. As for the students , they were looking forward to have the project to be a continual one.

on Youth Crime then gave out certificates to all the students to recognize their job well done
This " Simply Cool" project which was sponsored by National Youth Achievement Council of Singapore was well recognized by the Ministry and the public. On the 1 st Dec 2003, Assoc.Prof A/Prof Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs and Chairman, Inter-Ministry Committee on Youth Crime then gave out certificates to all the students to recognize their job well done.
