Braveheart Challenge
On Sunday, 5 September 2004, North East Community Development Council (CDC) held a North East Youth Search called the "North East Braveheart Challenge" .
ITE-ASHRAE students Ikram Tahir, Guan Yak Chuan and his lecturer Mr Derrick Cheong participated in this meaningful competition. North East Braveheart Challenge is a competition that tests the youth's ability to work as a team to champion themselves in both physical and mentally challenging situations. The Challenge consists of 3 components, Adventure, Community Service and Creativity. The community service
aspect of the challenge would serve as an eye opener, taking youth out of their comfort zones to face realistic situations lived by the lower rungs in society.

The aims of this Challenge are to provide an opportunity for youth to
display their creativity in finding solutions to solve their situational difficulties;
cooperate with one another in order to synergize for team success and
bond and interact with other team members of different races for a better understanding of each other's culture in appreciation of racial harmony.
educate the youth that they have a social responsibility towards the community they lived in.
