Project Clean & Green Project
Aware of the environmental problems that face society, 50
odds ITE ASHRAE students from School of Engineering ITE CE
were inspired to embark on various “Clean & Green
“ projects to contribute their effort.
In late 2008, South East CDC launched Eco-Initiatives and
they had raised 7.500 energy saving light bulbs sponsored
by Philips. Utilizing what they had acquired in the school
workshops, the student volunteers had installed the Philips
energy saving light bulbs from early March to August 2009
at various one room flats & needy families in areas such
as Kaki Bukit ,Macpherson , Bedok North as well as Bedok South
district.
ITE ASHRAE Students also participated in the Clean & Green
carnival organized by NEA(National Environment Agency) in
Dec 2009 at City Square mall to promote ways and tactics in
saving energy utilization at home. In the carnival, the students
shared with the public on practical ways to save energy such
as switch off the mains when on using, purchase the refrigerator
that portray more energy labels and switch the air conditioning
remote control to 25°C.They also demonstrated to the public
on how to do the simple air con units servicing by themselves
to save energy consumption.
Actively volunteering the effort in the various environmental
projects, the students hoped to inspire the rest to do like
wise to get involved in helping to protect our mother earth.
