Community Service Project with APSN
Tanglin School
APSN Tanglin School is a special school set up to train and
develop students with special needs to their fullest potential
so that they can lead dignified, fulfilling and independent
lives as integral members of society.
20 students from CE School of Engineering NYAA team had worked
together to teach a group of 20 students from APSN Tanglin
for a 5-day technical training in Basic Domestic Electrical
Wiring and Basic Air Con units Servicing.
In these 5 days, the APSN students learned how to install
electrical wiring circuitry in a domestic household set up
as well as on servicing a split type air con.
The students were working in pair as this could boost their
morale and confidence and at the same time, make the learning
and teaching easier.
Both group of students benefitted a lot from this workshop
which started on the 11th June 2009 and ended at 18th June
2009. Quoted from Jun Yi, one of the ITE student leader,”….my
APSN friends here paid attention to every details of the workshop
and practical assignment, I really admired their effort..”
Indeed , the hard work of APSN Tanglin students had earned
them each a certificate of attendance duly signed by CM/ FCT
& ME Mr Loh Kum Fei himself.
In exchange, APSN Tanglin School had awarded a plaque and
an appreciation letter to CE School of Engineering to commemorate
valuable cooperation.
