ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer Talk
Sustainable Office Buildings in Hot and Humid Climate
by TL CHEN, PEng, CEng., Fellow ASHRAE
Primetech Engineers
The buzz word of Intelligent Buildings was replaced by Energy Efficient Buildings followed by Green Buildings and now by Sustainable Buildings. Regardless of whatever market driven gimmick-al term, HVAC system remains the major component for energy efficient and sustainable building design. Innovative HVAC concepts have been continuously developed and stretched to new limits. Countries in hot & humid climate have not trailed behind and have successfully localized many of the state-of-the-art passive and active cooling technologies. Case studies of selected award winning design/s in such region (which have ventured beyond the industry norm) will be featured.
